Here you’ll find a bunch of information on the Annihilation playing card set produced via Kickstarter; including the number of decks produced, some of the materials used and any other information that relates to these decks.
A key feature of these decks is that all artwork is printed in cold foil on both the front and back of every card which offers a really unique and collectible feel to the deck.
Annihilation: Midnight
The Story
Midnight depicts the arrival of the "others". The global space agency is reporting unidentified objects sitting just outside of our atmosphere around the globe. Since the arrival of these objects, almost all living plant life across the world has begun to die.
Leaves are falling from trees, plants are dying and shrubbery is shrivelling up. Animals which rely on this plant life to feed are beginning to starve and are turning aggressive in their search for food.

Annihilation: Eclipse
The Story
A solar eclipse marks the second phase of the coordinated attack on human kind.
Almost all animal life has succumb to starvation and all plant life has expired.
During the eclipse an unrecognised species of vine begins growing from the decaying corpses of animals. The insect life that had survived starvation begins to amass on these vines for nourishment.
At the same time, some seemingly targeted humans are attacked by a brutal and forceful alien creature, it is currently unknown why these creatures are attacking some humans but not others.

Annihilation: Red Dawn
The Story
Red Dawn sees the final phase of the attack on earth.
A large portion of bird species have survived the attack on our ecosystem by feeding on aquatic life and insects that require little nourishment.
As the vines grew during the eclipse, birds in the millions flocked to them to feed on the insects. After feeding, they began acting erratic and flocking to densely populated areas.
It was found that these birds are infected with a parasite which carries an extremely fatal virus that attacks humans by deconstructing and damaging their DNA. The parasite causes birds to seek out and attack humans, spreading the virus as much as it can.

The Story
This deck was a stretch goal for the Kickstarter project which focuses on the depiction of the invaders as opposed to the human struggle against the invaders.

Other Items
Throughout the course of the Kickstarter project, we unlocked several add-on goals including;
A Coin Set
A custom designed coin was produced to accompany each deck of the set which were made with a brass core and nickel outer by a UK based manufacturer.
A Story Booklet
A story booklet which delves into more detail for the story of the invasion of earth was also produced. The booklet is formatted as a series of reports from the global defence agency.
A Custom Carat Case & Coin Holders
A custom carat case was also produced as a part of this project with custom inserts which hold the coins of the deck in place within the case.
